The book is dedicated to the Battle of Stalingrad - one of the largest in World War II. The history of wars has not yet known such an example of the encirclement and defeat of such a large army. Stalingrad was a triumph of Soviet military art and the courage of Soviet soldiers and officers. The defeat of the fascist bloc at Stalingrad shocked all of fascist Germany and undermined the confidence of its allies. The encirclement and liquidation of a huge army of invaders meant a radical turning point throughout the Second World War.
