The monograph is devoted to the economic, social and spiritual development of the Soviet North during the war. The experience of organizing and educating the masses accumulated by local party organizations and Soviets was revealed, its significance at the current stage of the development of the North was shown. The territorial boundaries of the study include the Kamchatka and Murmansk regions of the RSFSR, the Kolyma region within the modern Magadan region, the north of the Yakut ASSR, the former Narym district and seven national (now autonomous) districts of the North, the Vorkuta and Ukhta regions of the Komi ASSR. The time frame covers the pre-war and military periods of social development of the regions - from 1939 to 1945.
