The monograph is devoted to the analysis of power and domination using the configuration of power relations in Russia, "Russian power" as a "critical case" (the most favorable conditions for the study of power). The choice of Russia as a "critical case" is explained by the fact that in this country the authorities are crowding out alternative mechanisms for coordinating actions, primarily trust and conventions. Particular attention is paid to dominance as a result of a combination of interests in the market (Max Weber), both national and global. The use of this technique of imposing will leads to the transformation of the market from a condition of freedom into an instrument of reproduction and strengthening of power. The combination of the interests of representatives of the state and business in the market is achieved by limiting competition through the control of entry and the sale of "entrance tickets," the buyers of which are provided with a privileged position. The book uses both qualitative (transcripts of 116 interviews conducted in 2005-2008 with high-ranking officials, experts and businessmen) and quantitative (statistical) data. When processing them using qualitative and quantitative content analysis, a number of methodological innovations have been proposed.
