The book offered to the reader contains the "Regulations, or charter, of the Spiritual College" - a law issued in the form of a manifesto by Peter I in 1721, which determined the legal status of the Orthodox Church in Russia. "Regulations" includes three parts, which determine the composition and appointment of the Spiritual Collegium, list the cases subject to its management. The second part of the book contains an addition to the "Spiritual Regulations," which refers to the rules of church clergy and monastic rank, presbyters, deacons, monks and nuns, monasteries and their abbots, as well as marriages of faithful persons with heterodox. The materials included in the book were repeatedly reprinted in Russia; the last pre-revolutionary edition, including the "Regulations," was published in 1897. However, this publication today will be interesting to historians, religious scholars, as well as a wide range of readers.
