The collection presented to the attention of readers, which is a kind of anthology of Soviet chess studies, is intended to acquaint them with the achievements of Soviet sketch composers. A separate chapter is devoted to the work of the older generation of Soviet etudes - N. Grigoriev, M. Klyatskin and F. Simkhovich. The creative reports of the leading masters of Soviet etude composition form the central part of the collection. Each of these composers is 3. Birnov, V. Bron, A. Gerbstman, T. Gorgiev, A. Gulyaev, A. Gurvich, G. Zakhodyakin, A. Kazantsev, G. Kasparyan, V. Korolkov, M. Liburkin and V. Chekhover - he himself selected his sketches for the collection, and also commented on their decisions. Wanting to show the work of Russian and Soviet etude composers in all its diversity, the compilers collected about 700 selected works in this collection.
