Conceived as a collection of colorful chapters, a book for reading, addressed to both specialists and a wide range of readers, the Onegin Encyclopedia combines articles of different genres: small scientific studies and commentary articles, literary essays and brief explanations to the text of Pushkin's novel. The encyclopedia differs from the earlier comments on "Eugene Onegin" not only in the principle of organization, but also in the breadth of the coverage of the material, the emphasis on monographs in individual articles, which made it possible to some extent to approach a new comprehension of the novel, to reveal white spots in its study.
