The book is devoted to the study of the problem of the origin of the Chuvash people, for the solution of which the author used archaeological, anthropological, ethnographic sources, language data, information from ancient and medieval authors. Parallels and correspondences of elements of the culture of the ancestors of the Chuvash and other peoples are considered.
