Sandro Botticelli is one of the outstanding representatives of the Early Renaissance. He created many masterpieces on religious topics, and one of the first to become interested in ancient myths, and in his work he often began to resort to allegory. It was Botticelli who gave the world one of the ideals of female beauty. And partly thanks to this master, it became possible for the emergence in the second half of the 19th century of such a trend in English cultural life as the Pre-Raphaelites.
