The book publishes documents and reports on the survey of archives in Italy, prepared by Evgeny Frantsevich Shmurlo (1853-1934), a famous Russian historian, professor at the University of Dorpat, who since 1903 was the first scientific correspondent of the Imperial Academy of Sciences in Italy.
