For almost 100 years, Germany has been Russia's main military partner. The exception was the years of two world wars, when both great states turned out to be irreconcilable opponents. From 1855 to 1950, the level of German influence on our armed forces was constantly changing. The largest falls on 1863-1883 gt. when Russia rearmed the army and navy with German equipment, and in 1945-1950, when not only the USSR, but all the leading powers of the world used German developments.
