Hannu Elyas Mäkel (Fin. Hannu Eljas Makela, born August 18, 1943, Helsinki) is a Finnish writer, poet, playwright. Hannu Mäkelä was born into a family of teachers Väinö Mäkel and Evi Leinonen. He graduated from the Pedagogical Institute and taught Finnish language and literature in evening school for 2 years. He began his literary work in 1965 with the novel "All the time on the road," since then he has published more than 20 novels, one of which ("Master") in 1995 was awarded the main national literary prize - the prize "Finland."
