Production of M3 tanks began in March 1941 at the American Car and Foundry plant. The hull of the tank was assembled from rolled armor plates on a frame of corners and stripes using riveting, and for tanks of late releases - partially by welding. Inside, the corps was divided into two compartments: combined control and combat and motor. Between them was a partition installed directly in front of the fan.
