Daphne Du Maurier (May 13, 1907, London - April 19, 1989, Cornwall) is an English writer and biographer who wrote in the genre of psychological thriller. The writer's work is known primarily for such works as the novel "Rebecca" and the story "Birds," filmed by Alfred Hitchcock.
