Alexander Odoevsky, better known as Sander among friends, returns home to St. Petersburg after studying at Harvard, where he was sent by his father to receive higher education. But instead of taking his place in his father's already legitimate business, Sander, unexpectedly for himself and those around him, sets off... to Japan to his friend Yoshitada. A friend with whom they shared the hardships of student life in America, and who in his homeland is the heir to the ancient shogun dynasty.
