The world, after the end of human civilization, reluctantly meets those remaining on mortal land. Maxim Shvedtsov, nicknamed "Swede," fleeing the persecution of terrible creatures, meets a beautiful girl - Mila. She leads to the village to people, where feelings flare up between them. In dreams, creatures with red eyes and pale skin begin to come to him, calling to themselves. Driven by nightmares, he persuades Mila to leave. The creatures from the forest go on the offensive, and they hastily leave the house. "Swede" has to find a safe home for Mila, cope with obstacles on the way, and discover extraordinary abilities.
