Joanna Lindsay wrote her first novel, The Kidnapped Bride, in 1977 at the age of twenty-five. The novels of Joanna Lindsay take place in the Middle Ages and the Wild West, in Victorian England in fictional countries. Among her heroes are Russian nobles (Dmitry Petrovich Alexandrov in "Secret Passion" and Alexandra Konstantinovna Rusinova in "Be Mine"). The Joanna Lindsay series of books, informally called the Malory Family Saga, is very popular.
