Information on water resources and their integrated use, on hydraulic structures and waterworks on navigable rivers is presented. Types of navigation locks and principles of their arrangement, basic requirements for arrangement of the lock and its approaches are given. The characteristics of the reservoir and its parameters are given, methods for calculating silting of the reservoir and environmental protection measures are given. The main provisions of building codes and rules for designing hydraulic structures, as well as the main provisions of the Water Code are considered.
