The book contains basic information about materials, tools and devices used in the construction of furnaces and their repair; classification and description of main parts of domestic furnaces are given; masonry techniques and finishing of the outer surfaces of the furnace are described in detail; structures of heating furnaces and special purpose furnaces are given; types and characteristics of fuel are given; methods of converting domestic furnaces to gas are considered, as well as safety issues during furnace works. The appendix to the textbook contains working drawings of the most common furnaces with plans of brickwork rows (orders).
