This publication is a manual on the application of statistical analysis in medicine. The manual discusses sources of information about the health of the population, some concepts of probability theory necessary to understand the logic of statistical analysis, as well as specific methods of mathematical statistics as applied to the practice of biomedical, clinical, hygienic and socio-hygienic research. Illustrative examples show methods of statistical data processing using the popular Microsoft Excel software package.
