The first chapter provides the basics of verse analysis. Further, two chapters on the example of program poems show more subtle nuances of analysis, weaving knowledge about the author's biography into the analysis. The last chapter gives the opportunity for self-examination: other program poems and questions are given to help at different stages of analysis.
