The book includes two memoirs - the famous "Notes" by General and Senator Count Komarovsky (they cover the period from 1769 to 1833) and never before published "Memoirs" by his great-granddaughter Ekaterina Leonidovna, born in 1878. The daughter of a professor at Moscow University, a certified "home" teacher and trustee of an orphanage in Moscow, in 1910 Countess Kamarovskaya was accepted into the service at the Court and for several years served as a teacher of the eldest daughter of Grand Duchess Ksenia Alexandrovna and Grand Duke Alexander Mikhailovich, who later married Prince Felix Yusupov.
