Along with the pyramids, the Sphinx, the mastab complex in Saqqara and the Theban necropolises, Karnak belongs to the most interesting archaeological sites in Egypt. The ruins of the grandiose temple of Amun, the complexes of the goddess Mut and the god Khonsu and now amaze with their greatness, being a wonderful example of the high achievements of the monumental art of ancient Egypt. This impression further enhances their image captured by the photographer artist. Karnak, which is a common cultural heritage, remains a living monument, although its current form and purpose are far from primary. That is why acquaintance with the history of this complex allows you to really understand the meaning of the architectural and sculptural values ​ ​ created there in the past. Book prof. Kazimierz Mikhalovsky is not a guide to the ruins, but a historical characteristic of the grandiose cult center in Karnak that has developed over the millennia.
