History of the design, construction and service of the battleship "Pelayo" - the first classic battleship of the Spanish naval forces. Laid down as the lead ship of the series, "Pelayo" for various reasons remained the only ship of this class in the history of the Spanish fleet. For almost three decades, this battleship was the pride of the fleet and a symbol of its power, being at the same time a school of naval personnel.
