The basics of pulsed optical location are outlined. Energy and energy-time reflecting characteristics of irradiated surfaces and methods of their calculation are considered. The main types of interference and their statistics are described. Basics of detection and evaluation of pulse signals, including at inertial reception, are described. Influence of temporary generation of radiation on detection conditions and measurement accuracy is considered.
