Why did perhaps the most talented statesman in Russian history, who accepted a dilapidated country with a village plow, and left it a modern and great power with nuclear weapons, fail to achieve continuity of his course? V.N. Dobrov, a member of the Writers' Union of the Russian Federation and a researcher of the Stalinist theme, is looking for an answer to these questions in his book. Relying on the memories of people who knew I.V. Stalin closely, and archival materials, a number of which are published for the first time, the author comes to conclusions that may seem paradoxical. As shown in the book, I.V. Stalin prepared a successor for himself, and also educated and ran in leadership positions the young change of leadership of the USSR. However, in the course of the coup on March 5, 1953, the country left the path outlined by Stalin, and the young leaders selected by the leader were pushed aside by the old party guard, who sought to maintain their power.
