The collection of articles is devoted to the development of the most important issues of musical folklore based on the materials of folklore expeditions of recent years. The study of the problems of tradition, regularities of the musical language, variability, genre specifics of Russian folk song is carried out taking into account the local originality of the forms and features of the historical development of the song culture of certain regions of the North-West of Russia.
