The book is devoted to the theory and applications of empirical prediction methods and an important particular case of this scientific direction - automatic pattern recognition. Relationship between problems of empirical prediction and artificial intelligence is considered. There are given methods for description of initial data, detection of regularities and their use for prediction of new facts, in particular, when filling in missing elements in empirical tables.
