This book is the first in Ukraine anthology of world liberal thought, including the works of authors of the XVII-XX centuries. She continues a series of publications under the general title "Political Ideologies," the purpose of which is to consistently represent the main traditions of political thought and the corresponding political ideologies. The collection includes excerpts from works and individual works of the classics of liberal thought, as well as the most important studies of leading Western scholars. The structure of the anthology reproduces the main features of liberalism and the nature of liberal ideological thinking. Accordingly, the six parts of the anthology contain texts that introduce the reader to the problem of the identity of liberalism (its fundamental values); liberal anthropology (a view of man, society and culture); the philosophy of freedom; the principles of social order and the concepts of a liberal state; theories of justice, equality and welfare; questions of the relationship between liberalism and theories of democracy and human rights.
