The book contains the publication of the results of excavations and research of the author in the Eastern Black Sea region over the past 12 years, after the publication of the book: Khroushkova L.Monuments chr? tiens de la C? te Orientale de la Mer Noire. Brepols: 2006. This book includes an essay on the spread of Christianity and the history of church organization in the region, materials from excavations in Pitsunda (2007-2009) and excavations of the early Christian complex in Sebastopolis (modern Sukhum) in Abkhazia; the architecture of a large group of domed and non-domed churches of Abkhazia was considered; for the first time a complete collection of irrigation ceramics from Sebastopolis is published; for the first time, a synthesis of information about monuments of Christian architecture in the southern part of the Krasnodar Territory of the Russian Federation (the territory of the diocese of Abazgiy of the Patriarchate of Constantinople) is given; little-known materials stored in museums in Sukhum and Sochi are published.
