The documents published in the collection make it possible to create a versatile and reliable picture of the inhuman suffering suffered by our fellow countrymen even for a short (compared to other territories) period of Nazi occupation of the Tula region. Difficulties arose in covering the activities of the occupation regime due to the practical absence of the safety of its document flow in the funds of state archives, as a result of which this section is presented to a certain extent unilaterally - on the basis of fragmentary testimonies of civilians and reports from agents.
