Marcus Aurelius - a representative of late Stoicism and a follower of Epictetus. In his philosophical records, he paid most attention to ethics, singling out the remaining sections for propaedeutic purposes. If the former Stoics considered the soul the dominant principle, then Marcus Aurelius called reason the leading principle. In his collection "Alone with yourself. Reflections" he makes the case for bringing reason into harmony with the nature of the whole and thereby achieving impassive.
