The book "Notes of the Soviet Translator" was first published in 1937 in Sofia. Its author, translator Tamara Vladimirovna Solonevich (1894-1938), describes Russia in the 20-30s. last century. These were years of devastation, poverty, hunger and complete lawlessness of power, "when five people would go to prison because of a rooster." The moods of people from the "free world" - foreign delegations who visited the USSR - sharply contrast with the presented paintings of the Soviet regime.
