The second book of this multi-volume includes materials about Abkhazia and Abkhazians, extracted from the leading publications of the Russian periodicals of the last twenty years of the XIX century. They highlight the ethnic situation in this region of the Caucasus after the last stage of deportation of Abkhazians to the Ottoman Empire; the socio-economic situation of the local and newcomer population, the state of school education.
