Russia and Brazil are separated not only by a colossal distance, they are two very dissimilar cultural worlds, two countries that have belonged to different international systems for centuries. Attempts to bring such countries closer together, to promote mutual understanding of their peoples have always been an extremely difficult task, requiring those who dared to do this to make great efforts, or even sacrifices.
