The book of the famous military historian A.B. Shirokorad is devoted to the armed conflicts of Finland and Russia - the USSR in the 20th century. Until 1990, in Soviet historical science, fiction and journalism, the relations of our country with Finland were extremely incomplete, often in a "lacquered," "retouched" form. During the years of perestroika and post-perestroika, a flurry of revelations of the events of the Winter War of 1939-1940 fell upon Russian readers. According to the author of the book, all the "revelations" were written not very thoughtfully and reasonably. Russia had to wage not one, but three wars (1918-1922, 1939-1940 and 1941-1944). Moreover, Finland was not a small peace-loving state, but an extremely aggressive country, which 15 years earlier than Germany introduced the swastika as a state symbol, SS detachments and concentration camps for dissidents. A clique of adventurers led by K.G. Mannerheim back in 1918 set a goal for the Finns - the creation of Great Finland, the county towns of which were to be Murmansk, Arkhangelsk and Petrozavodsk.
