The monograph highlights the role of large merchants in the cities of southern Germany (Augsburg, Nuremberg, Ulm, etc.) in the formation of economic ties in the process of forming the world market. The structure of companies, the main directions of their trade and financial activities are studied, the participation of South German merchants in mining and metallurgical production and its activities in the Spanish colonies in the first half of the 16th century are analyzed.
