The proposed manual contains over a hundred English stable phrases and stable phrases, usually called winged words. Out of the entire mass of winged words in English, aphorisms, quotes and apt expressions have been selected for the book, which have an exact equivalent in Russian and are related in origin to classical and biblical mythology and ancient history or borrowed from literary sources.
