The tradition of correlating the image of Ivan Karamazov with a number of large-scale, metaphysical-iconic characters of world literature has long been established in world science and has become universally recognized. But in Dostoevsky's "poetics of memory" a special place was occupied by the artistic and figurative world of the Bible, which becomes for him in creative terms a defining intertext, a "great reminder." In the book of Viktor Lyahu, the image of Ivan is comprehended as an allusion to the "first angel Dennitsa." The biblical story about Lucifer, who rebelled against the Creator, became, according to the author of the book, for the Russian artist a paradigm that was in demand by him in the logic of his own intertextual strategy.
