Mitsos Alexandropoulos - a famous Greek communist writer, member of the Resistance movement. The dilogy novel consists of two books - "City" and "Mountains," which tell about two periods of the struggle against fascism during the Second World War. In the first part of the dilogy, the action takes place in the capital of Greece in the winter of 1941, when the hero of the novel Kosmas, fleeing the pursuit of the occupying forces, flees from the province to Athens. There he finds, although dangerous, the only right path, joining the ranks of the national Resistance. In the second part, the author tells about the heroics of the partisan war, about the struggle of the Greek people against the invaders.
