Readers are well acquainted with the excellent book Pavel Mikhailovich Tretyakov in Life and Art, which has survived several editions, the author of which, the daughter of the collector Alexander Pavlovna Botkin, examines in detail, relying on documentary evidence of contemporaries, the family archive and his own memoirs, the life path and feat of his father in the name of Russian art. Much less well-known is the book written by the eldest daughter of P. M. Tretyakov, Vera Pavlovna Ziloti, "In the Tretyakov House," published in Russian in 1954 in New York by the A.P. Chekhov Publishing House, fifteen years after the author's death.
