Jewish people in the struggle against fascism: Materials of the III anti-fascist rally of representatives of the Jewish people and the III plenum of the Jewish anti-fascist committee in the USSR. The Jewish Anti-Fascist Committee is a public organization in the USSR, formed by the NKVD in early 1942 under the Sovinformburo from representatives of the Soviet Jewish intelligentsia for propaganda purposes abroad. The JAC included politicians S.A. Lozovsky (head of the Sovinformburo) and M.M. Borodin, writers I.G. Ehrenburg and D.R. Bergelson, poets S.Y. Marshak and P.D. Markish, filmmaker S.M. Eisenstein, musician D.F. Oistrakh, actor V.L. Zuskin, Generals J.G. Kreiser and A.D. Katz, Hero of the Soviet Union submarine commander I.I. Fisanovich, academicians A.N. Frumkin, P.L. Kapitsa, L.S. Stern et al., Creator of the Chamber Theater A.Ya. Tairov, actor and chief director of the Moscow State Jewish Theater Solomon Mikhoels. The main task of the JAC is to influence international public opinion and organize political and material support for the struggle of the USSR against Germany.
