The book is dedicated to one of the most interesting stages of Russian military history. Based on archival material, memoirs and documents, the author argues over the far from simple fate of the Armed Forces. In the center of the story is a winding, sometimes contradictory path traveled by Russian regular regiments in the XVII-XVIII centuries.
