A small book by the German Germanist Konrad Burdach (1859-1936) refers to those scientific works that, with the aim of a strictly defined specific study, outgrow it and become a noticeable milestone in the search for new approaches - in this case to one of the most important problems of the history and philosophy of European culture - the essence and historical roots of the Renaissance and Reformation.
