Based on conversations with Vitachek Dobrokhotov, a plan was drawn up for the book "Essays on the History of the Manufacture of Bowed Tools" and various works of Yevgeny Frantsevich were processed and compiled into a whole. The middle section of the introduction and the chapters devoted to Russia and Poland only sketched by the author were written anew, using all the sketches preserved in the master's archive.
