The reader is offered a new context for understanding the already familiar and largely stereotypically presented texts of Turgenev, which is associated with their reading in the light of the Faustian code. This approach is due to Turgenev's deep and constant interest in "Faust" by I.V. Goethe, primarily in his artistic anthropology and philosophical ideas, expressed figuratively, outside systems and theoretical constructions, which impressed the Russian writer.
