Mithridates VI Eupator is the last great king in Hellenistic Asia Minor. For decades he fought with Rome, at different times becoming a formidable opponent for Sulla, Lucullus and Gnei Pompey, but it was not this period of Mithridates' life that inspired the famous writer Vitaly Gladky.
