Tamenaga Shunsui's book "Plum Love Calendar" - one of the best examples in the ninjobon genre ("a tale of feelings") - was printed in 1833 (the first two parts were published in 1832). The outstanding work of traditional Japanese prose of the last stage of its development is almost unknown to the European reader.
