When developing their worldview (1843-1847), Karl Marx and Friedrich Engels severely and quite rightly condemned utopian socialism as an ideology completely alien to them both in spirit and in tasks. Hence, many Marxists have already established a dismissive attitude towards utopias and utopianism and, moreover, to a greater extent than utopianism deserved, even as an outmatched and outmatched stage of development.
