Dietmar Kamper (1936-2001) - sociologist, anthropologist, philosopher, one of the most significant representatives of post-structuralist thought in Germany, founder of the Interdisciplinary Center for Historical Anthropology at the Free University of Berlin, author of the concepts of "imagination of the body," "violence of the gaze," "sedation." The proposed collection contains articles of different periods, united by the desire to comprehend what the modern body is, what are the consequences of the violence of the image, what is pain, how imagination can lead to liberation, how scars and wounds turn into signs and a miracle. Camper's complex, metaphorical, and, at times, catastrophic language rewards the reader with the depth of penetration into the stated topics and the clarity of the proposed solution.
