The main results of work on the creation of electric rolling stock (EPS) with asynchronous traction motors (ATD) are given. Principles and methods of ATD frequency regulation ensuring the required traction characteristics are considered. Analysis and calculation of processes in the frequency converter for power supply of ATD to EPS are given. Peculiarities of ATD operation caused by EPS power supply from AC contact system, as well as influence of operating conditions on loads of traction motors are considered.
